Michel Gondry: Unknown Treasures

Michel Gondry is one of the world's most vital filmmakers. His highly original and imaginative style has made the Academy Award-winning writer/director in demand across the planet. The auteur behind Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Science of Sleep first made a name for himself with groundbreaking music videos for Björk, The White Stripes and The Chemical Brothers and has since become a defining force in modern filmmaking.

A passionate advocator of art created outside of commercial institutions, Gondry recently released a new book, You’ll Like This Film Because You’re In It: The Be Kind Rewind Protocol which details his experiences with community filmmaking at Manhattan's Deitch Projects and at his home in Williamsburg.

I recently interviewed the Brooklyn-based Frenchman and you can read all about it here.

Gondry also offers his tips for community filmmaking here.
